State Tournament Next Week
In the spirit of safety, North Little Rock High School and Center of Excellence students ONLY will be dismissed February 27, 28, 29, and March 1 at 2:20 p.m.
The tournament brackets have not been released at the time of this writing. The Arkansas Activities Association will release the brackets over the weekend.
Games will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday. On Saturday, they will begin at noon.

District Earns AGFC Award
Christopher Brown, a senior from North Little Rock Academy, shared how he has personally benefitted from outdoor education.
This award salutes the NLRSD for implementing outdoor curriculum across schools. AGFC leaders commend district leaders for demonstrating the profound benefit of conservation education regardless of location.
Glenview, NLR Sixth Grade Gold Win Basketball Championship
Congratulations to the Glenview Chargers on winning the Elementary Basketball Tournament! In a thriller, the Chargers eked out a win over the Ridge Road Wolves, 21-20. Glenview's Ronnie Lewis earned the Most Valuable Player trophy as he hit a three point shot to secure the win for his team.
We also salute the North Little Rock Sixth Grade Gold Team on winning the Sixth Grade Basketball Tournament! They fought in a competitive matchup against Sixth Grade Black, winning 28-25. Ja'Quan Moore reigns as the game's Most Valuable Player.
We commend ALL of the teams, cheerleaders, coaches, and fans on an incredible season! We salute all of the organizers for getting the elementary basketball program back going since COVID-19.

Engineering Week Celebrated at Crestwood
To bring awareness about engineering and the engineering profession during Engineering Week, Garver representatives spent one morning at Crestwood Elementary to discuss the career field and to engage students with an engineering activity. The students had a build a bridge that included Dots and toothpicks. The structure has to be sturdy enough to hold a container of marbles.
